Founded in 1973 and rebranded in 2021, Michigan Economics Society seeks to offer programming that is not addressed in the economics curriculum alone and bring together students from all disciplines with a common interest in economics. With our sponsorship from the Economics department, we strive to further establish a strong and vibrant community of economics scholars dedicated towards furthering their knowledge and education outside of the classroom. We put particular emphasis on career and exclusive recruiting events, bringing prominent alumni back to campus; as well as providing academic support through tutoring and mentors for core Economics classes. Ultimately, we hope to create closer bonds between students interested in economics and provide a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment to further the knowledge and education of engaged members of the organization.
Our members come from a variety of majors including business, economics, engineering, and math. We encourage all students from all disciplines to join us as we host a variety of events. Our organization is open to all!
MES is very busy throughout the academic year, averaging at least one event per week, so don’t miss out!
